KS3 Sketchbook Homework
Each student should maintain a working sketchbook, and record at least one sketch per week though out the term:
- Draw the inside of your refrigerator
- Attempt to draw the last dream you can remember
- Draw your clean laundry after folding
- Wad a piece of paper and draw it
- Draw the inside of a car
- Draw the Mona Lisa, with you as Mona Lisa
- Find an insect and draw it
- Draw what is on your computer screen wallpaper
- Draw what is outside your living room window
- Draw a bicycle or a motorcycle
- Draw your favorite pair of shoes
- Draw a kernel of popcorn
- Squeeze a tube of toothpaste and draw it
- Draw your bookshelf

WEEKS 1-3:
Classic Literature Book Cover Painting: Students will continue the series of large-scale paintings for the library
WEEK 4: Mid-term break
WEEKS 5-8:
Palm Tree Sculptures: Students will transform three large pillars in the library into life-size palm trees
WEEKS 9-12:
Greek Column Sculptures: Students will transform three large pillars in the library into life-size Greek columns

Outdoors landscape drawing: Class drawing outside. Student will drawing surrounding such as landscape and buildings (Three 50min drawing sessions for complete drawing)
WEEK 4: Mid-term break

Soap Sculpture: Each student will carve a natural object from a bar of bath soap. Ex: person, animal, or plant (Two 50min sessions for complete sculpture)
WEEKS 7-9:
Book Art: Students will transform a hardcover book into a work of art, either cutting, carving or painting the book into a creative art object (Three 50min sessions for completed project)
WEEKS 10-12:
Cardboard Sculpture: Students will create a maquette (small-scale sculpture) from cardboard. No fasteners or glue will be allowed. (Three 50min sessions for completed project)
